M a g n u s !

Wondering around on the internet, as usual, I found this incredible video in CG called 'Magnus'. The video itself didn't tell me much of what is it about (and the description just says "An old train travels through landscapes, to get to an ancient city") , as if it didn't have a story but after watching it I couldn't help feeling the need to watch it again. The graphics are incredibly detailed and well done. All the textures and the motion of the fluids where perfectly done. It was a brilliant composition! (ok...here's the full CG film)

Magnus from Meradi Omar on Vimeo.

It wasn't hard to track down the people who did it, and it was even more impressive finding out that it was made by 3 students of a french university (Université Paris Arts et technologies de L'image).
The CG was made by Dos Santos Nelson, Meradi Omar and Music by Rey Phillipe. They did an impressive piece of art. No doubt they're going to have an impressive CV after this.

At the moment, I'm not pretty sure what i want to focus on (animation or games), but what ever it is, I'll work really hard to be as impressive as this three guys.

And just to finish this up, take a look at the making of Magnus. I believe this proofs the importance of a good composition:

Fabula Nova Crystallis with Luminous

Being a big fan of the Fabula Nova Crystallis: Final Fantasy series (FF for close friends) I couldnt help to make my first post about it, and specially since I'm desperate to play the coming FFXIII-2 and even more: FF Versus XIII (trailer please~)

Not only past 11 of september it was announced that FF V XIII had entered full production (100% development power!!!) but also on the 21st of the same month the director, Tetsuya Nomura, revealed that the game's internal lighting was going to be redone by their new engine called Luminous Studio, an engine designed to be both high efficiency and high quality in terms of photo realism.

In a footage from the early stages of the engine you can tell how powerful this little tool can get:

The one on the left is the footage with luminous and the one in the right is a real footage...that´s pretty impressive to me... looking forward to see this beauty in action.
